This chunky, bubbly sculpture features gentle curves that ask to be touched and admired. Although this pillowy piece seems like it could be solid, it is in fact a hollow form making it appear heavier than it actually is!

The Gentle Bowl is a truly special gem of a piece made with the intention to bring delight! It can be a sculptural object displayed on its own, hold jewelry by your bedside or bathroom vanity, keep small offerings like sage and special tiny items or as a unique way to serve snacks (olives, nuts, cheese, fruits etc!) for a festive dinner. It makes a lovely and unique addition to any dining, coffee table or any place in your home you’d like to add an art piece.

Each bowl is carefully built by hand. I start by creating my palette of colors with clay I have stained specific formulated colors. I collage layers of shapes with clay and press the patterns into a larger slab of clay to create a unique surface (a process called inlay/ terrazzo/or nerikomi!). I then roll out, cut and form each slab into its final shape.

Each piece is made by hand and therefore no two will be exactly the same and the way the colored clay patterns look will all be a bit different (these are not painted on with glaze, it is the clay itself!)

The surface has a clear satin glaze.

Hand washing is recommended.
